Canterbury Tuning is a vehicle ECU tuning company based in Christchurch, New Zealand. After using AltTune maps on our personal vehicles since 2017, we decided it was time to bring this tried and true performance tuning to the Canterbury market. Our goal is simple: to improve your vehicle's performance safely, quickly and transparently. We don't hide behind fake statistics or unclear pricing - we instead opt for a fixed-price, easy-to-book approach. Our maps are developed in New Zealand for our road conditions, our fuel and our market specific vehicles. These are not international "plug and play" maps but ones with real-world experience in New Zealand and we are 100% committed to our partnership with AltTune and AlienTech.
Founder Sam Gibbons has been in the automotive industry since 2014 and worked with vehicles all over the country. What started with vehicle detailing has developed into a wide range of quality services under The Excellence Group. In all of our endeavours, quality and satisfaction are the key drives. We are not a numbers business and are a small team focusing on serving our clients personally and without prejudice.

We offer our services from an appointment-only workshop in Yaldhurst which is based where we live. Our highly secure premise offers a relaxed experience and we treat your vehicle like our own while keeping a full watchful eye on it 24/7.

In 2024 we rebranded our company as The Excellence Group Limited. Our brands include The Detailing Specialists, Canterbury Tuning, Smelly Kiwi and more to come. We have a true and intense passion for all things automotive and have great plans to enhance our clients experiences in tuning, automotive care, detailing and more. We have an extensive database of over 1000 clients in Canterbury and are excited to offer high quality products and services to the market.​
